Stacey Leathersich

Music Instructor

🎵 Music Program at ABES

A HUGE thank you to 🩷 ABES Foundation for supporting our music program at ABES! We're thrilled to announce that our TK-4 music program officially kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 2 with the amazing Ms. Stacey Leathersich leading the way! Our program focuses on building a love for music step by step:

  • TK & K: Developing a sense of beat and melody with instruments, voices, and movement.

  • 1st & 2nd Grade: Learning rhythm notation to prepare for pitch notation.

  • 3rd & 4th Grade: Playing recorders and joining choir to develop ensemble skills, performance practice, and confidence!

A little about Ms. Leathersich: With degrees in Vocal Performance and over 20 years of teaching experience, she's passionate about sharing her love for music. Alongside her work at Adobe Bluffs, she serves as the music and artistic director of the PQ Community Choir. We're so lucky to have her! And let's not forget-our 5th graders get to enjoy band with our district music teacher, Mrs. Lisa Posteraro.

Sheila Foster

PE Instructor

Thank you Adobe Bluffs Foundation for funding our ABES PE Program. Our students benefit in so many ways. We introduce a variety of sports and games as well as stretching and dancing. All students learn how to play with one another, practice good sportsmanship and have fun while being active. A typical PE session starts with stretching, jogging on the track, a learned activity and we end with a light stretch and cool down.

TK/K grades - Development of motor skills, learn how to stretch, play active games, introduce our track for power walking or jogging.

1st/2nd grades - Use the track for jogging, learn basic skills from a variety of sports. Learn active games like 4 square, jump rope and hula hoop.

3rd grade - Learn basic rules for a variety of sports and introduce team play. Fun competition with a large emphasis on good sportsmanship. Introduce timed runs.

4th/5th grades - Continue team play and friendly competition. Increased time on the track to fulfill the goal of a completed mile jog. 5th grade to complete CA Physical Fitness Test.

A little about Mrs. Foster's sports background is she was a NCAA Division l Tennis Player with over 5 years of junior tennis coaching experience. She also has experience in Volleyball, Track and Field and Swimming. She's passionate about helping students build healthy habits, develop teamwork skills and most importantly have fun while being active!
